RULES OF THE COMPETITION

1. Contestants must be born between the dates of May 28th 1980 and May 28th 2002.
2. Acceptance to the competition is not based on citizenship, nationality or religion of the contestant.
3. Only one composition may be submitted by every contestant.
4. Score and all the instrumental parts maybe be written out by hand or printed on computer notation software. If handwritten parts are submitted, they must by neatly written and legible.
5. The length of each composition must be between 5 and 15 minutes.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS 2021 FOR NEW JAZZ BAND WORK

The Show-Me Pride Ensembles d/b/a Mid America Freedom Band is accepting proposals for a new work for its jazz band, the Mighty Mo Combo, from composers regardless of age, nationality, or style. The proposed 3–5 minute long original piece will be performed by the Mighty Mo Combo during the ensemble’s 2020–21 season.

I am currently in the process of exploring new and original music for the sopranino saxophone. I have been exploring this niche since 2018, resulting in my doctoral dissertation, the premiere of several works across the US and internationally. Recordings of these pieces can be found at https://soundcloud.com/awarichards/sets/sopranino-works

Selected pieces can be expected to be performed at Universities during the 2020-2021 school year, with the possibility of inclusion in a full length album.

2020 Toy Music Festival Call For Scores
Korea -Holland Music Association is proud to announce the 2nd annual Festive Call for Scores.
This year’s festival will call feature pieces for ‘Korean traditional music & technology’ which is going to be performed by khma ensemble & Seoul Toy Piano Ensemble and others.

Participant Eligibility:
- Composers and scholars of any nationality and age are encouraged to apply.
- Selected participants are expected to attend the festival. However, KHMA cannot provide any travel or lodging funding for selected participants.*

It's back!!!

Each day throughout the month of May 2020 Emily Mehigh (www.emilymehigh.com) will play a short piece for solo clarinet. This means that 31 submissions of miniatures for clarinet will be performed for this call. Each day Emily will prepare a work and perform it in the same day.

Composers whose works are selected will receive an audio recording of their miniature as well as the performance videos posted online. Selected composers are also welcome to contact Emily to discuss their works before they are performed (Ideally sometime in late April).

The ensemble NOISE and San Diego New Music invites submissions of contemporary scores for chamber ensemble. Selected works will be performed at the soundON Festival of Modern Music by members of the ensemble NOISE.
