The LunART Festival is pleased to offer an opportunity for women composers to take part in our From Page to Stage: Emerging Composers educational program and work with our 2019 composer-in-residence Valerie Coleman. From Page to Stage is for women composers who are students (college or high school), or at the earlier stages of their composition careers.

LunART Festival takes place June 6-9th in Madison, Wisconsin. Up to six composers will be selected for the 2019 season, and workshop participation includes:

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts (KHN) awards up to seventy juried residencies per year to established and emerging visual and interdisciplinary artists, writers, and composers/musicians from across the country and around the world. Residencies are available for 2 to 8 weeks stays. Each resident receives a weekly $100 stipend for the duration of their stay, free housing and private studio. KHN houses up to 5 residents at any time, generally 2 visual artists, 2 writers, and 1 composer/musician.

PIERLUIGI BILLONE AND TOM DE COCK MASTERCLASS

The masterclass is aimed at composers and performers of any level or nationality who are interested in better understanding contemporary music aesthetics through the lens of the artists involved in the project.

It is structured in two courses:

-the composition course, held by Pierluigi Billone;
-the interpretation course, held by Tom De Cock.

Meitar Ensemble announces the 4th Matan Givol International Composers Competition

Composers from all over the world are invited to present works for piano trios.

3-4 pieces will qualify to the final stage that will take place in a concert on June 26th 2019 in the Israel Conservatory, Tel Aviv. Those pieces will be performed and live recorded.

Two prizes will be awarded: 1500 euros (First prize) and 500 euros (Second prize).

Boston Choral Ensemble's Commission Competition aims to identify a talented composer and support her or him in the performance of a new work for chamber choir to be premiered by Boston Choral Ensemble. This year we are inviting people to compose a carol for our popular Holiday Concert. The prize is $1,500 USD and the performance of the commissioned work on Saturday 14 December, 2019 at Old South Church in Boston.

New Gallery Concert Series is now accepting score submissions for its fourth annual Composition Competition. The winning piece will be performed during the 2019-2020 season and the winning composer will receive a recording of the performance. Composers will be notified on April 30, 2019. There is an entry fee of $10 to help cover printing costs. Composers must attend the performance in Cambridge, MA. Housing accommodations will be provided if necessary. The composer will be responsible for supplying parts and score in hard copy or PDF format by September 1, 2019.

The Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble (PSWE) is excited to announce the inaugural PSWE Composer Initiative. This is a unique opportunity for up to 3 students–under the age of 35–to experience the art of composing for wind ensembles with the ultimate prize of having their work performed by PSWE in June 2019 and adopted into PSWE Repertoire. The selected composers will have works included in the final cycle for the PSWE season including a performance and live-recording.
