Call For Scores "Portraits and Remembrance" - Rossi Fest 2019

Rossi Fest 2019 Call is open for young composers`works that give a contribution to the world heritage in terms of culture of remembrance of the World War II, Holocaust victims and those who opposed it, being based on or inspired by historical, literary or other sources dealing with individuals, deeds and events during the World War II.

This way Rossi Fest aims to encourage the young artists and the Festival audience for further research of literary and other sources related to Holocaust, while the young artists` works written for Rossi Fest Open Call will become a valuable part of world artistic heritage and an important part of festival participants` programme. With this kind activity Rossi Fest gives an important contribution to the heritage of culture of remembrance and creates a new cultural sphere of artistic practice of future generations.


- The Open Call is open for all students of composition and composers up to 38 year of age.
- Works need to be related to Open Call theme - “Portraits and Remembrance”, as explained in the first passage of this text.
- Works need to include voice part or text in some other context (e.g. works that include reciter, tape etc.).
- Advantage is given to songs and chamber works.
- Lenght of the work: not longer than 12 minutes.
- Application: via the Application form on Rossi Fest website (
- Application deadline: December 15th, 2018
- Results: not later than December 30th, 2018

For the composers whose works are selected for Rossi Fest 2019 Programme, the festival will provide:

- ensemble and a counductor (if applicable)
- active contribution in the music and stage rehersals (with ensemble, conductor and stage director)
- performance of their work at the concert “Portraits and Remembrance” (January 27th, 2019)
- media support and promotion
- professional recording of the performance (audio + video)
- accommodation
