NOVA Chamber Orchestra call for Scores and a Composer in Residence - Deadline: February 1, 2019


- Composers ages: no limit

- All submitted works must be 5-20 minutes in length and must use the following instruments (numbers in brackets means maximum of players): Violins 1 (4), Violin 2 (4); Viola (4), Cello (3), Bass (1). (No subsets or bigger orchestration will be accepted)

- Works may have free style, and free amount of movements. Works using electronics will not be considered for this call.

- Solo violin and works may have already been premiered are accepted.


- Any works selected will be featured on our 2019 Season in Cordoba, Argentina (Season take place between March and December) and the composer will receive a recording of the premiere and the possibility of keep writing original compositions for the orchestra as a "Composer in Residence" during the 2019/2020 Season.

- The Premiere will take place in the beautiful Concert Hall of the "Exact Sciences University" in Cordoba, Argentina (composers need not attend the concert, in that case, they must arrange their own travel and lodging.


Selected works will be announced by March 15, 2019. The Premiere will take place any time during the Season.

• scores and parts in PDF format ( .sib files are welcome too)

• MP3s (midi or recordings) are encouraged but not required

• contact information (Full name, country and email address)

• After the submission arrives, a paypal payment request for the fee will be sent to the email left as contact information

Scores must be received by Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:59pm PST for full consideration. Scores arriving after this deadline will be retained for possible future consideration.
