2019 WSU Festival of Contemporary Art Music

The Washington State University School of Music invites submissions to the annual WSU Festival of Contemporary Art Music, held February 28-March 2, 2019 in Pullman, Washington. We are pleased to welcome this year’s guest composer Jim Stephenson (https://composerjim.com), whose works will be presented by WSU faculty and student ensembles. WSU School of Music oboe professor Dr. Keri McCarthy is this year’s featured performer.

Up to two submissions per composer are welcome in the following categories:
• Oboe (solo or with piano or electronics) to be considered by featured performer Dr. Keri McCarthy;
• Live instrumental/vocal performance (performers must be arranged by the submitter);
• Electroacoustic works up to 8 channels (live or fixed-media, with or without video);

Live performers other than the featured performer must be provided by the composer. Our concert hall is equipped with an 8-channel sound system and video projector. Any required non-standard equipment must be provided by the submitter if accepted.

Submissions are due by November 14, 2018. Accepted works will be announced by email by November 30. Selected composers must attend the festival for their work to be programmed. Submit up to two works for consideration here: https://goo.gl/forms/KfI2YJMIV4QgR3Jy1 (please submit multiple works separately)

There is no submission fee for this call. There will be a registration fee of $20 per programmed work to assist with costs for events staff and print materials. For other questions, please email scott.blasco@wsu.edu.
