The MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music at Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts announces a call for works to be considered for performance on the 40th Annual Bowling Green New Music Festival, to be held October 16-19, 2019. The festival will feature the music of guest composer/clarinetist Evan Ziporyn and others, performed by BGSU faculty, students and a featured guest ensemble, New Music Detroit.

This year, we are seeking works for the following instrumentation:
Works for Vocal Ensemble (3-6 voices, any range)
Works for Violin Ensemble (2-8 players)
Works for Oboe (solo, with piano, or trio)
Works for Cello (with piano, or cello ensemble 2-10 players)

Composers of any age, nationality or institutional affiliation, except those currently enrolled at or employed by Bowling Green State University, are eligible to submit scores.

All submissions should be made electronically, and should include the following in the form (https://goo.gl/forms/yZQI5FYH4u8Ni0Xx2):
a.) Contact information including name, email, phone number, and a short bio
b.) Piece submission information including title, instrumentation, duration, and program notes
c.) Full score in PDF format
d.) If available, a recording (MP3 or WAV format) or link to a recording (via your own personal web site, SoundCloud, YouTube, etc.) that can be streamed or downloaded online

Only one submission per composer will be considered for inclusion on the festival.

Composers selected to participate must provide scores, parts and other performance materials at their own expense.
Attendance at the festival is required; a small honorarium of $200 is offered to help offset travel costs.

Entries must be received by Friday, March 15, 2019 to be considered for performance.

Composers whose pieces have been selected for performance will be notified via email on May 10, 2019.
