ACADEMY: The TICF Academy showcases music of emerging composers, who will work with faculty resident ensembles in lessons, workshops, forums, & masterclasses, culminating in a premiere of their work.

Accepted composers will have one work (new or existing) performed by our resident ensembles, and participate in workshops on contemporary instrumental techniques and notation, orchestration, electronics, career development, and other topics. Composers are encouraged to write new works for premiere by either HKNME or Duo Ostinato. All concerts will be professionally recorded. TICF takes place at Mahidol University's College of Music, just west of Bangkok.

All application materials are to be sent electronically through the composition application form. http://bit.ly/TICFapp

B) Duo Ostinato: saxophone and piano (or saxophone solo), with or without electronics.

Upon acceptance, a tuition fee of $800 will be due June 15 for participation in the Academy and performance of your work. Audio recordings will be provided free of charge. Professional multi-channel recording and professional 4K 3-angle video recording will be available upon request for an additional recording fee.

Discounted student housing will be available to participants near Mahidol University during the week of the Academy.

FELLOWSHIPS: 1-2 fellowships will be awarded in the form of tuition-free participation for Thai composition students or recent graduates with expertise in audio engineering, electronics, live sound, video, or other skills applicable to assist with administrative and technical duties throughout the festival such as recording, editing, photography, and mixing recordings, operating Max/MSP patches, formatting programs, or other general organizational tasks.

Note: Although this is intended as an Academy for composers in the early stages of their career, age will not be a factor in the selection process, and any "emerging" composer with limited professional experience or commissions is eligible.
