Call for scores for String Quartet in honor of Haydn 2019

Composers all over the world are called to submit their original scores for String Quartet.

There is no age restriction.

We are looking for original compositions for String Quartet that are original and personal in style. No stylistic limits. A personal individual approach to writing for String Quartet is appreciated with good playability. Scores can be handwritten, computer scored, graphic, text scores or image scores.

Duration of the work should be between 5-25 minutes. No preference is given to longer pieces, works are considered for their aesthetic content and quality equally.

The jury makes a selection of pieces to be performed in a concert in Frankfurt organized by a member of the German Tone Artists Association. Selected works get recorded professionally and the selected composers will receive a digital recording of their works on CD or as digital sound file as well as a written and signed document to have been selected in the call for scores for String Quartet in honor of Haydn.

Submission documents:

Required submission documents are a copy file of the score, a short CV, a short program note for the work and a short written statement that the composer agrees with the unconditional performance and recording of his/her work in the call for scores for String Quartet in honor of Haydn 2019 for us to be allowed to perform and record the selected works.

There is a submission fee of 25 Euros that can be paid by invoice eMail by paypal.

Once all required documents and the payment of the submission fee are received the composer's work is entered for consideration by the jury for performance and recording of his/her work.

Selected composers are notified shortly after the submission deadline.

No conditional claims on the side of the composer can be made towards the selection process by the jury of the call for scores for String Quartet in honor of Haydn 2019, the jury is free to select or not select compositions according to their free musical decision. We reserve the rights to not select a composition in case of bad playability or lack of aesthetic quality of compositions submitted.
