New Music Ensemble seeks Managing Director

NYNME (New York New Music Ensemble) presents 3 concerts annually at the Resnick/Pasloff Foundation in New York City. Additional performances and residencies vary from season to season. We are seeking a managing director to oversee all administrative aspects of the group, focusing on development, marketing and concert production.

Duties include:

DEVELOPMENT
• Management of ongoing and recurrent grant applications
• Research, identify and execute applications for new sources of funding
• Annual appeal letter and follow up

MARKETING
• Update and maintain website
• Design and execute physical mailings and e-blasts for NYC concerts
• Manage Facebook and Twitter accounts and social media presence
• Draft and deliver press releases

OPERATIONS-CONCERT PRODUCTION
• Manage music rental/purchase as necessary
• Gather, compile and print program notes
• Hire recording engineer/videographer, box office/front of house help as necessary

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
• Maintain records, balance books, data entry into quickbooks etc
• Maintain licensing agreements with ASCAP and BMI and CMA membership
• Update and maintain databases for email, print mailings, mail chimp, foundations, etc.
• Provide musicians and board members quarterly financial information and annual budget to review for September board meeting

This is a part time position, approximately 25 hours per month, paying a monthly stipend.
Start date is 9/1/19. Qualifications include:
• Understanding of and active interest in the contemporary music field
• Writes vivid, engaged prose about contemporary music
• Lives and works in NYC metro area
• Reads and understands Annual Financial Statements, and multi-year budgets
• Some fundraising/grant writing experience preferred
