2020 Hot Air Music Festival

Now in it's 11th year, the Hot Air Music Festival is a celebration of contemporary music that provides young composers and performers the opportunity to present new works in San Francisco and engage the community at large. This student-run festival programs a variety of music written in the past 50 years with an emphasis on premiering new works and collaborations.

The Festival will be held on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, 50 Oak Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.

- The deadline to submit your application is Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019 at 11:59pm PDT.
- There is no fee to apply.
- Both composers and performers are encouraged to apply. Up to 3 works may be submitted for consideration for each application.
- There is no age limit for composers or performers.
- All works must have been written in the last 50 years.
- Technical support, such as for audio-visual elements, is available from Hot Air and must be requested below.
- Hot Air will assume no production costs.
- Preference will be given to composers who can supply their own performers. Hot Air will help provide performers to a limited number of composers' works.
- Composers whose works are chosen must be in attendance on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
