LunART Festival 2020 Call for Scores!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the submission period for the LunART Festival 2020 Call for Scores is now open! The LunART Festival mission is to support, inspire, promote, and celebrate women in the arts through public performances, exhibitions, workshops, and interdisciplinary collaboration; thus enriching our community and creating a welcoming space for learning and experimentation.

The LunART Festival 2020 Call for Scores is open to women composers of all ages and nationalities. Up to three works will be selected to be performed on one of our evening Gala concerts, and composers will receive cash price of $200 and a high quality audio and video recordings of their composition. If they choose to come to the festival, selected composers will receive free housing, free entry into all festival events, and the opportunity to attend a rehearsal of their piece.

Instrumentation can range from one to six players, with a total piece length of less than fifteen minutes. Complete submission guidelines and a detailed list of available instruments can be found on our website, https://www.lunartfestival.org/call-for-scores-2020. All submissions and $20 application fee must be received by February 1, 2020. Scores will be evaluated by a committee of LunART Festival musicians and directors. Selected applicants will be notified by March 15, 2020.

LunART creates an international platform for women in all of the arts. Our 2019 season featured over 100 performers and artists presenting works by women from the fields of contemporary classical music, visual arts, spoken word, poetry, dance, theater and photography.
