Salty Cricket Call for Scores from Mountain West Composers

Salty Cricket Composers’ Collective is pleased to open a call for works composed for flute, violin, and/or piano. This call is open to composers of all levels currently living or working in the Mountain West states of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona (Utah based composers may submit through our other call for scores). The selected work will be performed and recorded on our May 14, 2020 concert in Salt Lake City. There is no fee to submit.

**Submission Guidelines**
1. Submissions are welcome from composers currently living or working in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, or New Mexico. There are no age or educational restrictions

2. The deadline for submissions is February 14, 2020 (Friday). Late submissions will not be considered.

3. Compositions must be for flute (and/or piccolo), violin, and/or piano. Solo compositions are welcome.

4. Works may have been previously performed and published (provided SC3 incurs no cost for this performance).

5. Scores need not be anonymous.

Interested composers should send their materials to callforscores@saltycricket.org no later than 11:59 P.M. MST on Friday February 14, 2020. The application should include the following:
1. An attached PDF file of the complete score. Illegible or incomplete scores will not be considered.

2. (Optional) A recording (as an attached MP3 file or a link to an online streaming service). MIDI mockups and rough readings are acceptable. Neither the existence nor quality of the recordings will be a factor in the selection process.

3. Composer name, email address, phone number, and address.

4. Work details, including title, instrumentation, and duration.

5. (If applicable) Release from the publisher for SC3 to perform and record the work. SC3 will not consider any applications that require payment to a publisher and/or rental of parts. Submission of self-published and unpublished works is understood to give this release. Recordings will not be released commercially without consent of the composer.

The selected composer(s) will be announced no later than February 28, 2020. Parts for the selected work(s) must be delivered no later than March 14, 2020. The committee reserves the right to not select any works, but will make every effort to program from this call.
