Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra: WNMF Composers Institute

The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) announces the fifth annual Winnipeg New Music Festival (WNMF) Composers Institute to be held during the WNMF, Jan 23-29, 2021.

The WNMF Composers Institute provides a unique professional training opportunity for six emerging Canadian composers. The successful candidates will be immersed in the orchestral world through mentorship by some of Canada's leading orchestral composers and close integration with the renowned Winnipeg New Music Festival.

Apply today to have your work premiered by the WSO at the 2021 WNMF and receive mentorship and career development from an intense week-long residency including rehearsals, workshops, panel discussions, master classes, lessons and more. Successful participants will work closely with WSO Composer-in-Residence and WNMF Co-Curator Harry Stafylakis, WSO Associate Conductor Julian Pellicano, and RBC Resident Conductor Naomi Woo, along with WNMF 2021 guest composers.
