Fusion Film Scoring Workshops 2020 Thessaloniki

The Fusion Film Scoring Workshops are designed to give to the composer all the essential tools and knowledge needed to create an original Film Score. Up to 12 applicants will be selected to take part in an intensive 8-day workshop where they will be assigned to compose the original music for a Short Film (approx.5 minute duration). Each participant will receive individual mentoring by an internationally acclaimed faculty and seminars by industry professionals that will cover both the aesthetic and creative aspects of writing for film as well as technical aspects and score preparation. All the original compositions will be professionally recorded at a high-end studio.


Each participant will:

- be assigned to create an original score for a short film of approximate 5-minutes duration.

- receive a recording of their composition at a high-end studio (performed by our ensemble in residence.)

- be mentored by our internationally acclaimed faculty and visiting industry professionals

- Three selected participants will receive accreditation to take part at Thessaloniki International Film Festival 2020: http://www2.filmfestival.gr/en/festivals-en/tiff where they will have the opportunity to promote their work at the market (agora) of the festival with over 100 film industry professionals attending.

Early notification deadline: 1st of April 2020
Final Deadline for submitting: 15th of April 2020
Workshops will take place: from the 26th of August up to the 3rd of September 2020 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications by the early notification deadline; we will start to make admission decisions at that time and promptly notify participants of their status.

The participants will work in a highly inspiring setting where they will have the opportunity to meet other artists and creative individuals. At the heart of the old district of Thessaloniki in Ano Ladadika, Ypsilon is a space of artistic diversity, entertainment, open cooperation, and education. It is housed in a renovated building that dates back to the early 1900s, with unique acoustics and dedicated working spaces.
