University of Denver Lamont School of Music Trombone Studio Call for Scores

Dear friends, artists, and colleagues,

The University of Denver Lamont School of Music trombone studio invites you to submit a work for its first-ever call for scores. Works may be composed for: trombone solo, trombone and electronics, trombone duo, trombone trio, trombone quartet, and trombone ensemble (or any combination thereof, for instance, trombone trio with electronics would be an acceptable submission. Works for electronics are limited to 2-channel playback. Works for bass or alto trombone are also acceptable). Composers may also submit a secondary score that may be considered depending on participation. Of the scores submitted, the top five will be chosen to be performed in a concert by our studio on April 6th of 2018, at 7:30 pm.

We sincerely hope that you contribute to the beginning of what may become a very valuable tradition here at the Lamont School of Music, and also help us celebrate the diversity of music being composed for the trombone, an oft-forgotten modern instrument, though diverse none-the-less. Applications can be submitted at:

The deadline for submission will be November 22nd of 2017. If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at tyler.barboza@du.edu. We look forward to hearing from you and your music!
