Connecticut Summerfest 2018: Applications Now Available

Connecticut Summerfest, a non-profit contemporary music festival, is excited to announce the launch of its third season!

Our festival takes place at The Hartt School in West Hartford, CT and is comprised of seminars, lessons, rehearsals, and recording sessions for participants, as well as a free concert series open to the public and live-streamed! Our 2018 season will be June 14th-20th, 2018.

Invited composers will be asked to compose a new work that will be premiered at the end of the festival by one of our professional Ensembles-in-Residence:

Akropolis Reed Quintet: oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, bass clarinet
Duo Alterity: flute and guitar
Xelana Duo: saxophone and bassoon

New works will be recorded in dedicated studio recording sessions. Festival composers will have the opportunity to take lessons with our 2018 Composition Faculty: Kenneth Fuchs, Paula Matthusen, Dan Román, and Larry Alan Smith.
