Choral Chameleon Summer Institute - June 22-29 2018 - Brooklyn NY

Hosted by Choral Chameleon, currently Group-in-Residence at National Sawdust, winners of the ASCAP/Chorus America award for Adventurous Programming and now celebrating their 10th year.

As champions of living composers, Choral Chameleon’s choirs have premiered over 140 original compositions and arrangements since 2008.

Now in its eighth year, The Choral Chameleon Summer Institute is designed to immerse emerging composers and conductors of choral music in the intricacies of the choral idiom in a nurturing environment surrounded by respected professionals.

It gives students an opportunity to explore and experiment with writing and conducting techniques in a ‘best-case scenario’. Generous lab and podium time is given to all participants to ensure maximum practical and hands-on experience. The spirit of innovation, married with a traditional perspective on matters of musicianship, work in tandem to provide our students with skills that can enable unlimited thinking.

Places for 12 composers and 3 conductors.
Students may participate in both tracks at the same time, but must pay full tuition for each track.

Applications are open from December 1st 2017 and places will be offered on a rolling basis.
