Fusion Film Scoring Workshop

The Fusion Film Scoring Workshops are designed to give to the composer all the essential tools and knowledge needed to create an original Film Score. Up to 12 applicants will be selected to take part in an intensive 7-day workshop where they will be assigned to compose the original music for a Short Film (approx.5 minute duration). Each participant will receive individual mentoring by an internationally acclaimed faculty and seminars by industry professionals that will cover both the aesthetic and creative aspects of writing for film as well as technical aspects and score preparation. All the original compositions will be professionally recorded at a high end studio and will be performed live at a closing event.

KEY POINTS

Each participant will:

- be assigned to create an original score for a short film of approximate 5 minute duration.

- receive a recoding of their composition at a high end studio (performed by our ensemble in residence.)

- have their composition performed live with the film at a final concert.

- Three selected participants will receive accreditation to take part at Thessaloniki International Film Festival 2018: http://www2.filmfestival.gr/en/festivals-en/tiff where they will have the opportunity to promote their work at the market (agora) of the festival with over 100 film industry professionals attending.

Early bird deadline: 15 of May 2018

Workshops will take place: from the 2nd of September up to the 8th of September 2018 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications by the early bird deadline; we will start to make admission decisions at that time and promptly notify participants of their status.

The participants will work in a highly inspiring setting where they will have the opportunity to meet other artists and creative individuals. At the heart of the old district of Thessaloniki in Ano Ladadika, Ypsilon is a space of artistic diversity, entertainment, open cooperation and education. It is housed in a renovated building that dates back to the early 1900s, with unique acoustics and dedicated working spaces.
